Something seems to have gone wrong with the below email I sent out yesterday. Apologies if you receive this twice.
昨日私が送ったメールの調子がよくなかったみたいです。もし２通受け取ったら許してください。

I apologize that it’s taken me a day to step in
いろいろとわかるのに、一日かかっちゃいました、ごめんなさい。

My apologies for not staying in contact these last two years.
ここ2年ぐらい、その件に触れずにきたことをお許しください。
（上記で使っているapologizeですが、ちょっと変わった手法ですね。倒置法を使って強調させています）
